On Friday December 19th the Jingle Bellz party went down at UNIV, featuring Hellz and accessories by Miss Wax. Strictly for the ladies (although fellas were allowed) the party jam-packed 2500 people into the UNIV shop. SWAT teams and water cannons had to be brought out to control the masses. It was quite a night!

M.O.M. has opened their 42nd and Orange pop-up shop at UNIV.  M.O.M. makes custom cut-and-sew and individual high-end kids clothing from vintage materials. M.O.M. subscribes to a vintage D.I.Y. Upstart brand Ludwig recently featured UNIV on their oh-so-popular blog. Ludwig is the brainchild of  design powerhouse Mike Dytri and Willard Ford and is located in the Ford Brady space in downtown LA. Ludwig is based on the legacy of Ludwig Van Beethoven and focuses on a clean, classic aesthetic. We have been friends with these guys for a long time and carry the Ludwig line in the UNIV shop. Introducing the UNIV x Haze collaboration skateboards. Famed  artist and designer Eric Haze is a legend in street culture. From the early 70’s he was involved in the the New York grafitti scene and then turned his work into classic graphic design, developing key logos for early  hip-hop and more. His Haze branded apparel was one of the first true streetwear brands, and this was many years ago! UNIV was fortunate enough to collaborate with Haze on a skateboard in late 2007. This was the first skateboard Haze had done in many years. The board comes in two colors and is available at UNIV now.

The UNIV crew have been responsible for the inception and development for many successful bag brands in the past. Our involvement in bags has led to a simplistic design approach, focusing on materials and basic functionality. Current styles are the Standard and Miner bags.
