The SeaVees and Pantone 09/63 shoe collaboration is now at UNIV. With the creation of the 09/63 shoe, SeaVees celebrates the original release of the first PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM. For the first time in their 45 year history and through an exclusive agreement, Pantone has allowed an external design team into their hallowed archives. SeaVees selected several vintage colors from the original Pantone color guide. The palette, chosen from the only authentic guide known to exist, epitomizes the cool, casual style of California in 1963. Come and pick up a pair for yourself today.
About SeaVees
SeaVees celebrates the casual style of California in the 1960’s. The brand is a study in sixties revisionism, each style named after an influential date in California culture. Their product recalls the richness of style sensibility while deepening the appreciation of this inspiring era.
About Pantone
In September 1963, Lawrence Herbert, Pantone’s founder, created an innovative system for identifying matching and communicating colors to solve the problems associated with producing accurate color matches in the graphic arts community. His insight that the spectrum is seen and interpreted differently by each individual led to the innovation of the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM, a book of standardized color in fan format. Today, the Pantone name is known worldwide as the standard language for accurate color communication, from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer, across a variety of industries. For the discerning taste of the creative class, Pantone is, quite simply, the color bible.
